Miss Merc007 Games
In September I was able to spend a couple of hours with some of the game designers heading to Essen. I had to attend two events that day, so I could only chat with the designers, and take a few happy snaps of their new games. Here is a look at the wonderful eye candy. These are just some of the games that I got to look at.
I played this game when it was in the final stages before production, and it was a lot of fun. The designer also did the art. Very very nicely made, and the components are fantastic.
Dear Spiele, a new board game cafe opened up in Tokyo in August (2015) near Nishi Nakano station. I was very lucky to have been invited to visit the cafe on the day the Japanese game designers were showing off their games pre-Essen, unfortunately I could only stay for a couple of hours as I had to host another board game event. John from AEG came to visit and Japon Brand got together to share their games. This was the 2nd time I had visited a board game cafe in Japan (and I've lived here for over 10 yrs?) and it was an amazing experience. I'm definitely coming back. There game walls were immaculate and so beautifully organized that I get goosebumps looking at the arrangement.
I've been trying to design a project drawing once a month, and recently I discovered that Printerstudio has a new service and product up. It's their pillowcase line, so I decided to give it a go. The pillowcases are a little big, but I love them. If you'd like to get some of my art in pillowcase / greeting card / other format you can pick them up at my shop space on Printerstudio : Mandy's shop space
If you'd like me to customize something for you, feel free to suggest you ideas to me, and I'll see if I can make it happen.
A Kiwi's Dream
Halloween Owl King
Here is what the first pillow cases turned out like. I've designed and bought some more since, and I'll try make a video of them.
Essen is coming soon! Yah!!! Unfortunately I couldn't save up enough money to go to Essen this year. One day I really hope I can make it. For those that are in the same boat as me and cannot go to Essen and would like to order some Japon Brand games (BGG Link), I will be helping handle the international shipping for Japon Brand games. I'm not sure what is available to me at the moment, but stay tuned to the list below. I'm working with the designers to find out how many copies of the games I can get, some are being reprinted later in the year, and as soon as I find out I'll update the list. The details of the games are on the Japon Brand Shopyfy website.
Please don't email me yet :) I will write up how to put in your orders, closer to the Essen date as I am still working out how many/when/and what games are available to me. So watch this space :) I've already received some emails from people via the designer, so I will contact each of you.
UPDATE 10/5: The designers have been extremely busy preparing for Essen. I can start taking pre-orders, but unfortunately I don't know the prices and weights to all the games yet to provide shipping quotes, so once I have all that I'll post up all the details here. Thank you for your patience.
This semester, I'm starting something NEW!!! This was from Timmy Vu's wonderful request/suggestion. For those that can't afford the JBGS/just want yummy treats from me - I will be starting a "Merc's Gamer Snack Pack"!!! (I haven't thought of a good name for it yet, so suggestions are welcome.)
Before the JBGS, I shipped a lot of snack packs to BGG gamers. It was/is a great way to connect with others who share in this fun hobby, and I love chatting with everyone in this fantastic community. (Here are some packs I've shipped overseas - BGG Link). So I'd like to start sending yummy snack packs again. I will only open up a few spaces to see how many packs I can fit in my schedule.
What's in Merc's Gamer Snack Pack
These monthly packs will include a random assortment of yummy/interesting treats/seasonal snacks chosen by me. Each person's pack may be a little different as some snacks have a limited stock. Sometimes I will include other fun things like "drink bottle covers" that I collect (as seen in the picture above - the yellow item in the bottom right hand side). They are free limited edition item from bottled drinks in Japan, so I sometimes buy 10 tea bottles to try collect as many as I can. Other times I may include something like a Daruma doll eraser (see the next picture), or other fun things I can find.

Unfortunately my Japanese is only good enough to read the title of the snacks, and not the ingredients. Often the chocolates may contain traces of nuts. So if you have allergies/dietary needs I won't be able to customize the packs. So sorry. If you have allergies like nut allergies, unfortunately I would recommend not eating the snacks. So sorry.
If you want to cancel any time/or postphone a pack/skip a month just drop me a mail before the 1st of that month.
